Here's Psalm 23:6a in The Passion Translation: "...why would I fear the future? For your love and goodness pursue me all the days of my life."

Our fears and worries suggest that troubles, dangers, pain, suffering, and sickness are stalking us, nipping at our heels. Psalm 23 paints a different picture. As one under the Lord's care, it's his loving care that is chasing us down, it's his goodness that is nipping at our heels. That's what we should expect. That's what we should anticipate when we sense something approaching.
